Reglene er som følger:

- Kun èn stemme per døgn.
- +1 til to kandidater og -1 til fire kandidater
- Når en film får 0 er den åpenbart eliminert, og da må man plassere denne i elimineringslista.
- Når det omsider blir 6 og færre kandidater igjen:
+1 til en kandidat, -1 til to kandidater (også når det er kun to kandidater igjen, så i praksis blir stemmegivinga -1 til den ene kandidaten i den siste duellen).

Filmene som er inkludert på listen er alle filmene som har vunnet en "Academy Award for Best Motion Picture" i perioden 1980 til 2011.

Dersom denne stemmekonken blir en suksess kjører vi på med samme tema, men med perioden 1950 til 1979, og blir den også en suksess tar vi de resterende filmene også.
